Penske Logistics has opened a new 118,000 sq. ft. logistics facility in Louisville, KY. The site was developed by First Industrial using Penske specifications to handle parts for all of Ford Motor Company's North American manufacturing plants.

“We worked as a team to develop a facility that is customized to meet Ford's logistics needs and one that helps drive greater efficiencies in its supply chain,” said Bill Scroggie, vp-operations for Penske Logistics.

The 140-door warehouse and cross-docking site has the capacity to simultaneously unload up to a half- dozen 86-ft rail cars, enabling highly efficient truck-to-rail or rail-to-truck shipments. The facility handles more than 800 shipments daily to Ford's manufacturing sites across North America, Scroggie said.
