Special delivery
Getting a jump on the holiday season, Mack Trucks unveiled the custom-decorated Mack Pinnacle tractor that will transport the 2012 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree from the White River National Forest in Meeker, CO, to Washington, D.C. On hand for the roll-out at the Mack Customer Center in Allentown, PA, was former U.S. Sen. Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-CO), who will drive the special Bulldog.
“It is a privilege to drive the tree for the U.S. Capitol from Colorado this year,” remarked Sen. Campbell.

Shopping spree
Kinedyne Corp. just announced it awarded a $5,000 “shopping spree” of Kinedyne cargo-control products to the winner of its raffle drawn during the 2012 edition of the Mid-America Trucking Show back in March. The winner was Gary Baldwin (at left in picture) of G & B Trucking Inc. out of Clearfield, PA. An owner-operator, Baldwin specializes in transporting bulk materials.
“It’s a great feeling to be able to help a company such as G & B Trucking gain an advantage by providing them with $5,000 worth of quality Kinedyne products,” said James Klausmann II, Kinedyne executive vice president. “We know our products offer many cost-saving benefits that help an independent trucking company run a safe and profitable operation."
Wild West
Spotted at the 30th Anniversary Shell Rotella SuperRigs event held this year in Joplin, MO, this tractor-trailer boasts a historically themed mural that dramatically illustrates one kind of cargo theft that carriers faced back in the days when the stagecoach trucked goods across the American West.
Good stuff counts
The winners of the sixth annual Mike Russell “Good Stuff” Trucking Image Awards, presented by the American Trucking Assns. (ATA), were honored “for their efforts to bolster trucking’s prestige in this country,” said ATA president & CEO Bill Graves.
