    Jan. 8, 2013

Truckload carrier Transport America has opened a new service center to help support its operations and growing presence in the Mexican freight market.

The support center, located off Interstate 20 in Dallas, sits on a nine-acre site and includes a full maintenance shop, fuel and driver amenities such as drivers’  lounge, showers, Internet, ATM and laundry.

“We are very excited to add this support center to our network,” said Scott Arves, CEO & president. “In July of 2012, Transport America was named the fastest growing truckload carrier by Transport Topics, and this investment allows us to deliver our commitment to grow to support our customers and our professional driver base.

“We expect to hire more than 200 employees in the area over the next few years,” he added.

Transport America offers over-the-road solo, over-the-road team, regional, dedicated, intermodal, intermodal dray and brokerage operations.
