TCA seeks participants for Trucking’s Weight Loss Showdown

April 8, 2013

The Truckload Carriers Assn.is seeking participants for its third Trucking’s Weight Loss Showdown. The weight loss and wellness program is a competition managed by Lindora Clinic, a personalized weight management company.

Teams of drivers and staff from participating carriers follow Lindora’s Lean for Life program, which is based on a moderate-carbohydrate, low-fat, moderate-protein menu plan coupled with exercise, nutrition education, and lifestyle changes.

The competitors receive weekly phone calls from Lindora’s coaches, who educate them on nutrition and behavioral changes, help boost their morale, support them through their personal challenges, and recorded their weight loss.

Last year, TCA's two Trucking's Weight Loss Showdowns were big successes.  In total, more than 200 professional truck drivers and support staff on 17 teams competed. “But everyone who travelled the road to better health came out a winner,” says Debbie Sparks, TCA’s vice president - development.

Carriers interested in participating should visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QLY3KSPand complete the survey there.
