Nissan shows off a new  coating that sheds dirt.

Nissan calls it a hydrophobic coating. Spray it on top of a vehicle's paint and it sheds dirt, eliminating the need to run it through the wash bay.  It's not available yet on any production vehicle, but here's what it looks like when you spray half a car and run it through mud and muck.
