Descartes unveils software enhancements

Descartes Systems Group, a provider of on-demand delivery management solutions and services, announced the latest releases to its Delivery Management and Global Logistics Network suites.

The new releases expand upon existing Descartes’ solutions for fleet management, contract carrier management, visibility and event management, logistics messaging and rate management, the company said.

Improvements include the Descartes Route Planner, which now contains enhanced visualization and user-interface control options to improve ease-of-use, as well as route solutions that now considers factors such as stops-per-hour and lbs.-per-mile. In addition, the Descartes Automated Vehicle Locator has been enhanced to offer “light” dispatch features, and the Descartes MobileLink now covers a wider array of mobile workforce applications.
