ABF's Stubblefield retiring

Arkansas Best Corp. said that David E. Stubblefield, president & CEO of its ABF Freight System Inc. subsidiary, will be retiring on January 31, 2003. Robert A. Davidson will take over Stubblefield's duties. Stubblefield joined ABF in 1959 as a local sales representative in the Little Rock freight facility. He has worked in ABF's transportation department, was ABF's director of research and planning,

Stubblefield joined ABF in 1959 as a local sales representative in the Little Rock freight facility. He has worked in ABF's transportation department, was ABF's director of research and planning, headed the Data-Tronics Corp. subsidiary, was treasurer of Arkansas Best and its various subsidiary companies, and served for fifteen years as the senior vp of marketing for ABF. He has been ABF's president & CEO since 1995.

Robert Davidson is ABF's vp of marketing and pricing. The company has employed him for thirty years and he has been vp of pricing since 1982. The marketing duties became his in 1997.
