A new remote tire-pressure monitoring system for all classes of trucks integrates sensor, wireless transmitter and battery in a valve cap. Installation is as simple as screwing the Tire Sentry’s electronic valve caps onto existing valve stems, according to manufacturer Fleet Specialties Co.

The system transmits low-pressure warnings by tire position to a small dash-mounted display, protecting tires from damage or failure due to pressure loss, according to the company.

The electronic valve caps weigh less than one oz. and batteries are said to last between two and three years. Installation does not require removing tires, special tools or technical knowledge, according to Fleet Specialties. Models are offered for most classes of on- and off-highway trucks with up to 18 wheel positions. For more information, go to www.tiresentry.com.
