U.S. Xpress renames subsidiary

Truckload carrier U.S. Xpress Enterprises has changed the name of its CSI/Crown subsidiary to Xpress Global Systems to reflect the growth of its airport-to-airport expedited air cargo transport service. Under the Xpress Global Systems umbrella will be two operations: Dedicated Xpress Services Inc. (DXSI) and Xpress Direct. Xpress Global will be based in Tunnel Hill, GA, and be headed by Bill Lusk.

Under the Xpress Global Systems umbrella will be two operations: Dedicated Xpress Services Inc. (DXSI) and Xpress Direct. Xpress Global will be based in Tunnel Hill, GA, and be headed by Bill Lusk.

The airport-to-airport focus of Chattanooga, TN-based U.S. Xpress comes at an opportune time in terms of growth in airfreight volume. The Air Transport Assn. has reported that air cargo volume grew 14.2% in November of last year compared to the same period in 2001, after rising 20% in both September and October 2002.
