SAN ANTONIO, TX. Things are just about to get started here at the Rush Truck Centers Tech Skills Rodeo, and 2015 feels big — and it ought to. This is the 10-year anniversary of the event, and this year also marks the 50th anniversary of Marvin Rush's founding of Rush Enterprises in 1965.

"Let me tell you this: Nobody does this like we do," said Mike Besson, Rush's managing vice president of service operations and customer solutions, at an informational rundown Sunday evening before the technician competitions and other events begin Monday morning.

Hundreds of attendees — technicians, their spouses and others — packed a sizeable conference room for the briefing. All told, 163 techs made the cut and are here to compete in a number of categories to see who's the best, and a new competition this year, "Rush Rising Star," will feature level 1 and 2 technicians who it's a good bet will end up at the event in years to come as seasoned pros.

"You already won because you're here," Besson noted. Now, it's just a matter of those "best of the best" distinctions...stay tuned!
