The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company recently launched its 42nd annual Highway Hero Award. The company, which manufactures tires and commercial vehicle products, recognizes professional truck drivers who demonstrate courage and quick thinking while on duty.
Nominations are open through January 31 for drivers holding a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) operating qualifying commercial vehicles, including long-haul trucks, vocational vehicles, infrastructure trucks, and non-lifesaving emergency vehicles with rim sizes greater than 19 inches. Eligible heroic acts must have occurred between January 1 and December 31, 2025, while the driver was actively on duty in the U.S. or Canada.
Nominees can be submitted online with a detailed account of their actions. Goodyear will review submissions, approve eligible nominees, and a panel of judges will select one winner and up to two finalists.
The winner will be announced in early 2026 and receive a cash prize and a ride aboard the Goodyear Blimp. Finalists will also receive cash prizes.
"Truck drivers are the unsung heroes of our roads and communities," Joe Stuglis, VP of commercial sales-North America, Goodyear, said. "For more than four decades, the Highway Hero Award has celebrated those who step up in critical moments to protect others. We're proud to continue this tradition and shine a spotlight on their inspiring stories."
