The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) recently launched its recruitment for the 2027-2028 Research Advisory Committee (RAC). The institute, which conducts research to improve the efficiency and safety of the trucking industry, seeks members representing motor carriers, suppliers, professional drivers, government, and academia.
RAC members are required to participate in one in-person meeting annually and engage actively in ATRI’s research studies throughout the year. Members serve on subcommittees to develop research methodologies and data collection tools, provide data for ATRI research, and promote the organization’s findings.
Interested individuals are encouraged to submit an online application detailing their interest in serving and their industry background. The ATRI board of directors will appoint members later this year, and the application will remain open through May 15. Applicants may also nominate an industry colleague for consideration.
“You can talk to any of the 250-plus individuals who have served on ATRI’s RAC over the years, and they will almost certainly tell you it is one of the most rewarding professional experiences of their careers,” said Rebecca Brewster, ATRI president. “RAC members play a critical role in identifying the trucking industry’s top research needs, and we look forward to identifying a new slate of nominees for the 2027-2028 RAC.”
