Detroit-based third party logistics firm National Logistics Management (NLM) is adding four new clients in the manufacturing and automotive supplier sectors to its roll call of customers: Dana Corp.; International Truck & Engine Corp.; Trelleborg, a global industrial group based in Sweden; and Auto Alliance, a MI-based supplier that helps produce the Ford Mustang and Mazda 6 automobiles.
Scott Taylor, CEO & founder of NLM said his firm’s ability to mix freight delivery modes – particularly ground and air transportation – with its Internet-based logistics management system creates efficient and affordable freight transport options for customers.
He said this has enabled NLM to grow steadily in the last five years, noting its 17% expansion over the past 12 months.
“More manufacturers and suppliers are viewing expedited freight as a strategic tool, rather than a failure in the process,” said Taylor. “By planning ahead and partnering with a high-tech, dedicated logistics manager, companies can relieve considerable pressure on the supply chain, increase their flexibility, cut costs, and make just-in-time fit better with their business plan.”
