The American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) recently shared that President Rebecca Brewster will retire in early 2027 after 34 years with the organization, including 25 years as president and COO. The company, which serves as the trucking industry’s 501(c)(3) not-for-profit research organization, focuses on freight transportation research supporting safety, security, and efficiency.
“Serving the trucking industry through ATRI has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and I sincerely appreciate the Board’s long-time support of and confidence in my leadership,” Brewster stated. “The ATRI team is well-positioned to carry on ATRI’s mission of research to improve the industry’s safety and productivity, and I look forward to working with the new leader on the transition.”
The ATRI Board of Directors has formed a search committee to select Brewster’s successor, led by Werner Enterprises Chairman Derek Leathers, with Iowa Motor Truck Association President and CEO Brenda Neville serving as chair. The committee will begin its work in May to identify the organization’s next leader.
