The Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach will begin collecting the Clean Truck Fee (CTF) beginning on Wednesday, February 18th, via PortCheck Inc., a not-for-profit company created by marine terminal operators to collect the fees.

According to the Ports, all cargo must be claimed before the CTF can be paid, and after Feb. 18 no cargo will be allowed to enter or exit from a marine container terminal unless the cargo has been claimed.

Cargo owners registered through PierPass will be uploaded automatically to PortCheck once the official PortCheck website is available. PortCheck said it encourages cargo owners to visit the PierPass website to ensure they are registered, familiarize themselves with the website and navigation, and begin to claim cargo.
