FMCSA revokes four ELDs

FMCSA removed CTE-LOG ELD, ELD VOLT, POWERTRUCKS ELD, and TFM ELD from the list of registered ELDs.
July 29, 2024

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration recently removed CTE-LOG ELD, ELD VOLT, POWERTRUCKS ELD, and TFM ELD devices from the list of registered electronic logging devices. FMCSA placed these ELDs on the revoked devices list because the companies failed to meet the minimum requirements established in 49 CFR part 395, subpart B, appendix A. The removals took effect July 23, 2024.

Motor carriers have up to 60 days to replace the revoked ELDs with compliant ELDs. If the ELD providers correct all identified device deficiencies, FMCSA will place the ELDs back on the list of registered devices and inform the industry of the update.

Beginning September 21, 2024, motor carriers that continue to use the revoked devices listed above will be considered as operating without an ELD. Safety officials who encounter a driver using a revoked device on or after September 21, 2024, will place the driver out of service.

FMCSA encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues if the ELD providers do not address the deficiencies.
