A truck driver came to the aid of the Vermont State Police as they tried to stop a motorist during a high-speed chase on Interstate 89 near Bolton, VA, last Thursday, according to a report in The Republic.
A motorist was clocked by police traveling at 91 miles per hour, causing a state trooper to turn on his blue emergency lights and siren in an attempt to pull the speeder over.
The police action led the pursued driver to speed up in an attempt to avoid arrest. The driver reached speeds in excess of 125 miles per hour, authorities said.
The truck driver, who wasn’t identified by police, witnessed the pursuit and pulled across the lanes of I-89 so that all traffic was blocked, according to police.
Unable to continue on, the 18-year-old speeder was apprehended by police and taken into custody. The teenage speeder had four passengers riding with him.
