Jacksonville, FL-based third party logistics firm Vexure said its first quarter revenues increased to more than $31 million, up 41% over the first quarter of 2004, largely on the strength of its truckload business.

“Our current growth is coming from our truckload brokerage division,” said Allen Steele, Vexure’s chairman & CEO. Driving this growth was increased freight demand from its existing customer base, the addition of several large new customers, as well as the tight capacity in the marketplace, he noted.

“All of our other service offerings experienced strong growth as well as we capitalize on the tight capacity in the marketplace,” Steele added. That includes contract logistics, expedited freight management, as well as intermodal truck/rail service, he said.

“We’ve already hit the ground running in the second quarter and anticipate continued growth for the remainder of this year,” added Thomas Piatak, president & COO.
