Ryder System has presented its annual Driver of the Year awards to three drivers with a combined 96 years of experience and over eight million injury-free miles driven, the company said.

Robert Parker, a 34-year driver with more than 3.4 million collision and violation-free miles, was named 2007 Driver of the Year for Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions business segment. Kathy Overbay, a 27-year veteran with 1.2 million collision and violation-free miles, was named Driver of the Year for Dedicated Contract Carriage, becoming the first female recipient of the award. Charles Firman, a 35-year driver with 3.5 million miles driven, was named Ryder’s Fleet Management Solutions 2007 Driver of the Year.

The three drivers were honored at a luncheon in Miami, where they each received a five-day cruise to the Bahamas and Key West, as well as a trophy, ring and a watch, Ryder said.
