Ann Arbor, MI-based LTL conglomerate Con-Way Transportation Services is expanding the Northeastern reach of its Con-Way Central Express (CCX) subsidiary by opening a new, larger service center in Greencastle, PA.

“As the economy continues to rebound we are seeing more and more freight go through all our facilities,” said David McClimon, CCX’s president & CEO. “And Greencastle has always been a critical location for us because it is a major transfer and staging point for freight moving into and from the Northeast and South, which are two of the largest freight markets in the country.”

CCX said its new facility has 165 dock doors, employs 131, and sits on 32 acres adjacent to Interstate 81 on Mason Dixon Road in Greencastle. It replaces a smaller 119-door facility.

The new terminal handles next-day freight for all of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire and parts of Maine, Indiana, Michigan, North Carolina and South Carolina. Two-day deliveries are made as far away as Miami, Oklahoma City and Fargo, N.D.
