USA promotes Mills

USA Truck has promoted J. Rodney Mills to vp-safety & general counsel for the Van Buren, AR-based truckload carrier.

He now heads a newly formed operating department that combines safety, risk management and elements of USA’s driver training program. The department will reduce insurance and claims related accident costs while fostering a top-to-bottom culture of safety throughout USA’s organization, said Jerry Orler, USA’s president.

Mills served as USA’s internal legal counsel since 2004. Before joining USA Truck, Mills was a partner in the law firm of Hardin, Jesson & Terry PLLC for 14 years.
