Truckload giant Schneider National Inc. must be loving the Chicagoland area as it has put out the word it wants to “immediately” hire 200 truck drivers in Northeastern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana.

The carrier said its employment need is "fueled by business growth with customers and includes a wide range of professional driving roles."

For its Chicagoland operations, Schneider is specifically seeking experienced solo and team drivers, with owner-operators also being encouraged to apply for the new positions. Local and regional opportunities are available as well.

The Schneider pitch noted that most of the drivers hired can expect to be home weekly, with many positions offering daily time at home. Experienced drivers can earn an average of $42,000 – $60,000 in their first year, with some positions eligible for incentive pay, the carrier said.

Eighty of the 200 available positions are in the company’s Dedicated division and include incentive pay ranging from $1,200 to $5,000, but Schneider pointed out that drivers for the company’s Intermodal, Van/Truckload and Bulk divisions are also needed.
