Greg Hoover has been named the new chief executive officer of Bekins Van Lines, the nation’s oldest moving van line. Hoover joins Bekins after ten years as president & COO of competitor Atlas World Group.

“Choosing someone of Greg’s caliber to lead us makes a tremendous statement about Bekins’ future,” said David Caruso, a Bekins board member who led the CEO search and is president of Bekins A-1 Movers, based in Wilkes-Barre, PA. “Greg is cutting-edge, and hiring him shows that Bekins is serious about getting back to a position of prominence.”

“Greg is not a status quo manager, and we needed someone to help Bekins find new solutions,” said Doug McGrath, president of Worldwide Relocation Services in Smithfield, NC, and a Bekins board member who served on the CEO search team. “Greg is one of the highest-quality leaders in our industry, and we know he will make smart choices about where Bekins--and our changing industry--are going.”
