Alcoa Wheel and Transportation Products has announced new appointments for some members of its executive team as part of an “ongoing effort to expand business both internationally and into new market segments.” The changes aim to align resources for accelerated growth and to maximize operational performance, according to the company.
Scott Kerns has been named vp &d gm-commercial vehicle wheels for Europe, Japan & South Africa. He will be responsible for all activities in the commercial transportation business in these regions and will be based in Hungary. He previously served as vp & gm-- Alcoa Transportation Products.
Merrick Murphy has been appointed vp & gm--commercial vehicle wheels for the Americas and Pacific Rim, responsible for North and South America, Australia, New Zealand and Asia (excluding Japan). Previously, he served as vp-commercial vehicle wheel sales for the Americas. A replacement for his current assignment will be named at a later date, Alcoa noted.
Victor Marquez will expand his responsibilities as vp & gm-forged specialty wheels and transportation products. He will retain his current responsibilities overseeing the automotive and medium-duty wheel business while adding responsibility for the Defense market.
