Regional LTL carrier Saia has completed integration of recently acquired The Connection Company ("The Connection") and Madison Freight Systems. This gives Saiacoverage in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin and boosts its network to 151 terminals in 34 states.

The 19 terminals added by Saia’s acquisition of The Connection—an LTL carrier operating in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio since 1983—in November last year were fully integrated into Saia’s network in February, the company said.

The operations of Madison Freight System—an LTL carrier headquartered in Madison, WI—were integrated into Saia’s direct service on April 2.

“These newly integrated territories are providing service that has already surpassed performance goals,” said Rick O’Dell, Saia’s president. “Also, the integration of these acquisitions further advances Saia toward our strategic goal of achieving complete coverage across North America.”
