Cory Home Delivery has joined with Penske Truck Leasing and Demountable Concepts Inc. to help the home delivery specialist reduce costs and shave delivery time for many major retailers.

Cory, utilizing Demountable Concepts’ “Warehouse on Wheels” delivery system, will lease trucks from Penske in the agreement. “The internet and manufacturing abroad are rendering traditional business models obsolete,” Joseph Cory Jr., vp marketing for Cory, said. “Products that cannot be easily returned must arrive from central locations damage-free, and customers are no longer willing to wait for delivery. Utilizing interchangeable truck body systems, the service empowers retailers to expand delivery area, increase profitability, and improve efficiency.”

Based in Secaucus, N.J., Cory delivers products for many of the top 100 furniture, appliance and electronics retailers in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands. Demountable Concepts offers convertible base frame truck bodies equipped with legs that fold underneath for transport and unfold during free-standing storage and a chassis-lift system installed onto pre-existing or new 26-foot swap body trucks. Cory will lease the vehicles from Penske Truck Leasing.

“Demountable service is right on the money for retailers trending toward centralized warehousing to serve outlying markets,” said Cory, noting several advantages to the system based on cost-effective inventory process control and expansion capabilities.
