TCA names Ransom Safety Professional of the Year

James Ransom, director of safety for Boyd Bros. Transportation in Clayton, AL, was presented with the Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) Safety Professional of the Year award at TCA’s recent Safety and Security Div. annual Meeting.

“We are very proud of James’ work and are extremely fortunate to have such an outstanding individual on our staff,” said Richard Bailey, president of Boyd Bros. “His performance at Boyd Bros. can be measured by the sheer number of awards the company has received. The recognition our safety programs and initiatives have received speaks very highly of James, his department and our driving force.”

Ransom is responsible for FMCSA safety compliance and risk management. During his 29-year tenure, he has seen the company grow from 75 tractors to 672. In the most recent five-year period, Boyd Bros. received more than nine safety improvement awards from organizations such as TCA, the Safety Management Council of the American Trucking Assn. and the Alabama Trucking Assn.
