The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) is looking for professionals specializing in business, workforce and workplace management, finance, and other disciplines pertinent to the trucking industry to share their experiences and expertise.

Opportunities are available for trucking experts to share their knowledge with TCA member fleets through its Truckload Academy monthly webinars and as presenters at the association’s annual convention and recruitment and retention conference.

Produced in conjunction with ACS, the annual Recruitment & Retention Conference is a two-day educational opportunity for CEOs, COOs, vice presidents, recruiters, recruiting directors, and human resource, fleet, safety, and other managers involved in finding and engaging the best drivers. Approximately 200 trucking professionals are expected to attend the 2012 conference, Jan. 31-Feb. 1, in Nashville, TN.

Workshops are either 60 or 120 minutes in length with an average attendance of 50 attendees.

The TCA annual convention brings together carriers and industry suppliers from across North America for three days of informative general sessions and workshops. The convention provides a variety of workshops on specific issues and topics germane to the trucking industry and the companies that support it. Approximately 1,200 trucking professionals are expected to attend the 2012 convention, March 4- 7, in Orlando, FL. Workshops are generally 75 minutes long and they average 50 attendees.

Deadline for submissions for both the recruiting and retention conference and the annual convention is Oct. 28, 2011.

The Truckload Academy monthly webinars are 90-minute online educational programs that cover a wide range of topics and issues—sales, business development, recruiting, employment law, and operations pertinent to the trucking industry. Attendees participate by listening to the presenter through a conference line and watching an interactive PowerPoint presentation on the web. Webinars average 50 sites with an average of five people per site. Webinar submissions are accepted throughout the year for programs that will take place in the next two to four months.

To participate in TCA educational programs proposals need to be submitted online and include:

  • Proposed session title
  • Proposed session description of at least 150 words
  • Session type: Workshop – 60 minutes; Workshop – 90 minutes; or 90-minute Webinar.
  • Session topic: finance, human resources, maintenance, operations, safety & compliance; sales & marketing or other.

Proposals should include three or four learning objectives that represent what participants will learn, discover, understand, and be able to do, and include whether
your company is a TCA member or not. (TCA members receive preference in speaker selection.)

Also include a short biography of each speaker. Also include your contact information (name, title, company, address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address)

Proposals can be submitted electronically to:

  • [email protected] – for annual convention proposals.
