Con-way Truckload will add 300 trucks to support expanded regional operations in 10 states, according to the Con-way Inc. subsidiary. Scheduled to launch in January, the carrier’s under 600-mi. truckload service will be expanded to Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky.

Introduced in September, Con-way’s regional truckload service currently has 300 drivers operating in 11 states, interacting with its sister company, the LTL carrier Con-way Freight.

“Con-way Truckload Regional has been a great success, and we’ve seen a clear demand for this offering in a growing number of regions,” said Herb Schmidt, Con-way Truckload president. “With our available network of secure, state-of-the-art facilities and the ability to expand without adding infrastructure, we see a tremendous opportunity for strategic growth.”
