Freightliner names vp of sales

Freightliner Trucks has named Rich Ferguson vp of sales, where he will be responsible for the company’s sales efforts in the U.S. and Canada.

Ferguson joined Freightliner in 1999 as manager of mergers & acquisitions, most recently serving as president of Daimler Trucks Remarketing Corp. and SelecTrucks of America, LLC.

Ferguson will succeed Alex Bernasconi, who had been vp of sales since March 2003. Bernasconi will continue to work on several special projects for Freightliner through the middle of 2009, the company said.
