Haney Truck Line names CEO

Jack Gross, a 30-year veteran of the transportation industry, has been named CEO of Haney Truck Line, a regional trucking company based in Yakima, WA. Gross comes to Haney from Schneider Logistics, where he served as senior vice president & general manager.

“Bringing Jack on board is the next step in a strategic plan for growth we initiated in 2007,” said Mike Richardson, president. “Jack’s deep experience in the industry as well as his proven track record of success are a perfect fit for Haney as we continue to grow our services and geographical reach.”

Gross has held executive-level positions at Schneider, The Axis Group, Customized Transportation, Ryder Truck Line, and Roadway Express.

“I’ve admired Haney for a number of years, and have been impressed with their recent moves to expand the business and grow market share,” said Gross. “I hope to leverage my background to help Haney expand its leadership position in the industry, provide outstanding service to customers and build on its reputation as a leading regional employer.”

In 2009, Haney acquired Seattle-based Puget Sound Truck Lines and Oregon based Nickel Plate Express. It offers services around Seattle, Portland, Spokane, Yakima, Tri-Cities, Hermiston, Pendleton, Coeur d’Alene, Lewiston, Walla Walla, Eugene, Medford, Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Vancouver, and Salt Lake City.

Services offered include common and contract carriage, dedicated resources, and single source transportation programs utilizing 53-ft. dry vans, 64-ft. double vans, flatbeds, and refrigerated vans. The company employs over 600 and has 500 tractors and 1,500 trailers.
