According to a report in The Seattle Times, Paccar will lay off 430 employees at its Renton, WA Kenworth plant effective January 16th, as the company said it plans to stop the production of highway trucks at the facility.

The Times said that as of last year Paccar was manufacturing 18 trucks a day at the facility, but after the layoffs it will only produce two off-highway trucks a day in Renton.

Don Hursey, directing business representative of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, District Lodge 160, said 329 hourly workers and 92 management employees will be let go, leaving only 66 employees at the plant.
