Eaton forecasts ’07 production

Eaton Corp. said today in its fourth quarter report that NAFTA heavy-duty truck production totaled 378,000 units in 2006, but could fall as much as 46% to between 205,000 and 210,000 units this year.

Eaton Corp. said today in its fourth quarter report that NAFTA heavy-duty truck production totaled 378,000 units in 2006, but could fall as much as 46% to between 205,000 and 210,000 units this year.

Eaton’s Truck segment posted sales of $620 million in the fourth quarter, up 13% compared to 4Q 2005. NAFTA heavy-duty production was up 16% compared to 2005, with medium-duty production up 20%.

“Our hybrid truck program made further progress during the quarter, with the receipt of the 2006 Environmental Innovation Award from the Ohio Environmental Council, said Alexander Cutler, Eaton president & CEO.

Eaton’s total net income increased 15% to $241 million, compared to $210 in 4Q 2005.
