Mack Trucks, Inc. will sponsor a Driving Skills Safety Challenge at the World of Concrete Show, February 3rd through 5th in the Silver Lot #4 next to the Renaissance Hotel outside the Las Vegas Convention Center, the company has announced.

Contestants will choose one Mack Granite model mixer to operate through a simulated job site, completing a pre-operation safety check and successfully navigating the skills course in one attempt.

First place in both the individual and two-person team divisions will receive a $500 gift certificate, GPS navigation display and sunglasses. Second place will receive a $300 gift certificate and a Mack Citizen Eco-Drive watch, and third place will receive a $100 gift certificate and a Mack chrome Bulldog. All contestants will receive a Mack hat, money clip and duffel bag.

“We think it is important to recognize the contribution drivers make to job site safety every day,” said Michael Reardon, Mack vp of marketing. “It takes real skill and awareness to be safe and productive on a busy and crowded construction site and this competition is one way to highlight the professionalism of mixer truck drivers.”

The competition will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, with a reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. for contestants. It is open to any driver registered for the show who is at least 18 years of age and can show proof of operator training.
