Petro Stopping Centers has agreed to install IdleAire Technology's truck electrification system at its truckstops nationwide.

Fleets that have agreements with IdleAire pay $1.25 per hour to use the electrification system to power heat and air-conditioning systems, as well as communications and entertainment systems for their cabs without idling the engine and draining power from the truck's batteries.

The only retrofit needed is a window adapter, which usually costs about $10, according to IdleAire.

At presstime, installations had been completed at Petro locations in Atlanta, Knoxville, West Memphis AR, and Santa Nella, CA. Construction has begun at Petro locations in El Paso, TX, and on I-59 near Birmingham, AL.
