Oil prices down fifteen cents
The average diesel price in the U.S. decreased fifteen cents for the week of August 11, marking the third straight week prices fell at least a dime, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
Oil prices have dropped below $115 a barrel for the first time since May, The Associated Press reported, although analysts worry that continued fighting between Georgia and Russia could disrupt supplies.
The most expensive area of the country continues to be New England, where a gallon of diesel averages $4.58, followed closely by the Central Atlantic region, which averages $4.56. The least expensive area is the Midwest, where the average is $4.27.
