Looking to update its trailer graphics, increase brand awareness, and better tie its retail outlets with its logistics functions, Sunoco took a tested design and gave it a modern appearance. The company's private fleet has revamped 85 trailers with a new graphic, incorporating more color, adding a checkerboard pattern to tie in with its sponsorship of Nascar, and creating a safer, more visible trailer.

“The new decals increase visibility of our units in the evening hours by incorporating more reflective materials,” says Sean Groves, fleet manager. “In the daylight hours, we become more visible by adding larger surfaces of bright colors [red and yellow] on the trailer graphic.”

Not only does the design help with brand recognition, says Groves, it “matches with the canopies of our retail outlets.”
