Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission began a repaving project on the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Lansdale and Mid-County causing speed limits to be reduced to 40 mph and lane closures in both directions during the overnight hours.
The construction work will continue through November, according the Turnpike Commission.
The overnight repaving work will occur weeknights between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. southbound and 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. northbound until completion. The repaving work is unrelated to the reconstruction and widening project near the Mid-County toll plaza.
In the event of emergency-lane closures, the Turnpike will activate its Variable Message Signs and Highway Advisory Radio System (1640 AM) to inform motorists of conditions.
Turnpike users can also get up-to-date travel conditions by calling 866-976-TRIP (8747).
