A new rate reporting service from PCS Software allows companies to compare industry averages for similar shipments instantly. The Rate Report Service has been added at no charge to PCS’s Express Online Transportation Management System or the Express Client-Server TMS for those customers with a current support agreement.
Companies using PCS’s systems simply input a load into the dispatch software and the report interface will show high, low, and average rates over a 12-month line graphic for similar shipments. Carriers and brokers can utilize the data to see what the competition is charging and where their rates need to fall in the marketplace, PCS said.
To use the service, companies opt-in to share rate data to become part of the reporting data set. All data is collected anonymously and includes pickup and delivery dates, origin and destination cities and states, commodity information, and total freight charges. No identifying information is collected, according to PCS.
