U.S. Customs and Border Protection has completed installation of the Automated Commercial Environment at all land border ports in Vermont. ACE is the commercial trade processing system designed to enhance border security and expedite trade.

Customs has completed over half of ACE deployments along the northern border. Currently, 54 ports are using ACE in Arizona, California, Michigan, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Texas, Vermont and Washington.

The use of ACE to file electronic manifests will be required beginning January 25 for truck carriers entering the U.S. through all ports of entry in the states of Washington and Arizona and through the ports of Pembina, Neche, Walhalla, Maida, Hannah, Sarles and Hansboro in North Dakota. Eventually all land borders will be required to transmit advance electronic truck cargo information through ACE.
