Fifty-one truck and bus drivers have been arrested and charged with using fake names to obtain multiple commercial drivers licenses, according to a report in the New York Daily News.

Using facial recognition technology and a state-of-the-art computer program that continuously scans DMV records for individuals with multiple licenses under different names, the New York State Dept. of Motor Vehicles located the 51 .

Many drivers use aliases to obtain a CDL to hide traffic violations or arrests from employers, according to state officials. All 51 drivers face at least one felony count of offering a false instrument. Additional charges could also be filed, officials said.
