Last Word: Letter of the Month

Todd Spencer's position (see Lifting the Load, FO, 4/09, pg. 30) is an example of irrational hysteria to change, or Oh my God, we-can't-compete hysteria. Either way, Mr. Spencer and OOIDA had better come to terms with reality. This is not the 1900s, it's the 21st century. When I was an owner-operator in the '70s, I would have loved a legal gross weight of 97,000 lbs. L. Jay McDonaldTrucking Division
