CIO Magazine has named Con-way Inc. to its 2010 CIO 100 list. The list honors worldwide organizations that exemplify high levels of operational and strategic excellence in information technology.
It is the fifth time Con-way has appeared on the list and the third year in a row. The company previously appeared in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009.
“Being named to this prestigious list is a tremendous honor that spotlights the skills of our talented staff,” said Jacquelyn Barretta, Con-way’s chief information officer. “Their dedication and commitment to the project resulted in an integrated, comprehensive, high performance BI (business intelligence) platform that is already driving results across the enterprise. I congratulate the team on this significant achievement.”
The publication recognized Con-way in honor of the Advanced Business Intelligence Platform utilized by its less-than-truckload operation Con-way Freight, which leverages technology to create a single comprehensive view of all corporate data. Through this new capability, knowledge workers throughout the organization are able to perform advanced strategic analysis, continuous improvement analysis, predictive analytics, performance management and process automation in virtually all functions of the business.
