Compliance workshop slated

The Granite Bay Group, a commercial-vehicle compliance services firm, is offering a two-day workshop on Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and California Biennial Inspection of Terminals (BIT) program requirements. The workshop is scheduled for May 15 to 16 at the Ontario, CA, Airport Marriott Hotel.

The program is designed to prepare motor carriers for a DOT compliance review. Covered topics will include: requirements for proper accident reporting and record keeping, CDL requirements, driving rules, vehicle maintenance, the difference between federal and California hours-of-service rules, and driver qualifications, including Part 380 and California's Title 13, alcohol and drug testing.

This seminar will be led by Michael Haugh, a retired member of the California Highway Patrol and former chief instructor at the CHP Academy for commercial vehicle operations classes. Haugh also served as the director of safety & security for the California Trucking Assn.
