Averitt Express announced it has increased its number of next-day shipping lanes in Texas, turning some two-day shipping lanes into next-day service, the company said.

According to the company, the changes will reduce transit times in south and west Texas between El Paso, Laredo, San Antonio, Austin and Harlingen.

"We've added new capabilities for some of our Texas facilities,” said Calvin Rackley, Averitt's regional vice president for Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas. “Our continuing growth in Texas has allowed us to invest in our capabilities and improve service across the southern and western portions of the state. It has also improved our cross-border service to and from Mexico."
