Epes Transport System, a North Carolina-based truckload carrier, has awarded two $5,000 cash prizes and a new Chevrolet Silverado to drivers as part of its 2011 Biggest Referral contest.

The awards were presented at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the company’s new drivers’ lounge in Greensboro, NC.

“Our drivers have always been willing to share with other drivers the great opportunities available here at Epes – the place they call home,” said Melissa Davis, Epes director of recruiting. “We are thrilled to be able to thank our drivers in such a big way this year for spreading the word about Epes.”

Drivers Eric Betts, Tim Britt and Donald Washburn tied for first place for having the most referrals during the duration of the contest. Their names were drawn during the ceremony to determine which prize each would receive. Britt won the pickup truck and Betts and Washburn each won $5,000.

Epes will continue the referral program this year, Davis said.
