Rush Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: RUSHA and RUSHB) has appointed Karen Konecny to be vp– marketing & communications. In her new role, Konecny is responsible for directing the company’s branding efforts and marketing programs for all of Rush Enterprises’ business operations as well internal and external communications.

Konecny joined San Antonio-based Rush in 2006 as national marketing director. In that post, she led the company’s brand development and consistency in marketing communications across the company efforts.

Prior to joining Rush, Konecny was director of communications for Peterbilt Motors Co. from 1995 to 2006, where she was responsible for branding, marketing communications and dealer training. Previously, Konecny served 19 years with Allied Signal as global director of internal communications for their Automotive group and Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems Group, where she had responsibility for advertising and marketing. She holds a BS degree in Business Management.

Rush Enterprises, Inc. owns and operates the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in the U.S., representing truck and bus manufacturers including Peterbilt, International, Hino, Isuzu, Ford, UD, Blue Bird, IC, Diamond and Elkhart. The company's vehicle and equipment centers are strategically located in high traffic areas on or near major highways in 14 states throughout the southern and western United States.

Rush noted these one-stop centers offer an integrated approach to meeting customer needs -- from sales of new and used vehicles and equipment to aftermarket parts, service and body shop operations plus a wide array of financial services, including financing, insurance, leasing and rental. Rush Enterprises' operations also provide vehicle up-fitting, chrome accessories and tires.
