Fleet managers seeking to gain a better grasp on today’s technology for managing truck operations can turn to the NAFA Information Technology Guide for help.

The guide, published by NAFA Fleet Management Assn., is designed to identify technologies and how they can be used by fleet manager to save time and cut costs.

“With technology becoming increasingly more important in fleet management, NAFA's Information Technology Guide is a rare gem of information for fleet managers,” said project leader Doug Weichman, CAFM, director of fleet management for Palm Beach County, FL. “It provides an excellent overview of the technology that we all have to interface with every day.”

With over 130 pages of information, the guide is user friendly and breaks down information technology terminology into basic language. Detailed chapters include all aspects of technology, including information infrastructure, computer software, researching on the Internet, telematics, security, backup and recovery.

It is available as an e-download at www.nafa.org ($29 for NAFA members, $43 for non-members), on CD ($49 for members, $82 for non-members) or as a soft-cover, spiral-bound book ($79 for members, $115 for non-members).
