Old Dominion Freight Line has opened a new drayage facility in the Baltimore area. The site, the third such facility the company has opened this year, will serve the ports and container yards around Baltimore.
The strategically located facility will allow Old Dominion to deliver to approximately one-third of the U.S. population within 24 hours, the company said.
“The Baltimore site responds to growing customer demand and expands our coverage on the East Coast in close proximity to traditional drayage markets served by Old Dominion,” said Wayne Bersch, director of container operations.
Old Dominion container drayage services include direct point-to-point delivery, loading, unloading, short term warehousing and container pools for the convenience of import and export shippers. The company opened facilities in Memphis and Mobile earlier this year and has 12 drayage facilities in all.
