Betts Spring Company and Spraydown USA have formed a strategic alliance to offer a new integrated spray suppression system that combines Spraydown’s patented Aero Guard mud-flap with Betts’ patented DirectFlex hanging bracket. The integrated DirectFlex2 replaces the typical mud-flap/bracket component on a tractor and/or trailer with a combined system that substantially reduces the risk of guard loss due to curb pinch, landing gear entanglement or other such abuse, the companies said.

Spraydown noted that be by re-directing up to 98% of spray back to the road and out of the truck driver’s view, its Aero Guard mud-flap design improves safety during wet and inclement driving conditions.

The company added that its Aero Guard mud-flap not only helps reduce the road spray generated by tractor and trailer wheels, but also helps improve fuel economy as well by improving airflow underneath the trailer-- by as much as 4%-- per its own tests.
